Terms and Conditions

Good Life Travels, Inc. is a for-profit provider of travel services that is owned by Medlife, Inc., a non-profit that partners with low-income communities to improve their access to medicine, education, and community development initiatives. Profits of Goodlife Travels help support the non-profit activities of Medlife.

Contracts between the Traveler and Good Life Travels

A minimum deposit of 30% of the entire price of a trip is required to secure a booking with Good Life Travels. Some other services must be paid 100% in advance to secure spaces due to availability (i.e. Inca Trail Passes). Travelers booking by telephone or email will be deemed to have agreed to the booking conditions.

When Good Life Travels receives a deposit and accepts a booking, a binding contract between Good Life Travels, and all persons named on the booking form comes into existence. The Traveler signing the booking form warrants that he/she has full authority on behalf of all the persons whose names appear thereon and confirms that all such persons are fully aware of and accept these conditions, and agrees to bind all such persons.

Payment

The balance of the full amount due must be paid to Good Life Travels no later than 45 days before departure. In case of non-payment of the balance by the due date, Good Life Travels will treat the booking as cancelled by the Traveler. See Cancellation Policy.

For bookings made within 45 days of the departure date, the package must be paid in full.

Good Life Travels accepts all major credit cards. Wire transfer, direct deposit, or checks are also acceptable. The Traveler is responsible for all wiring and transfer costs.

Cancellation Policy
Payments for certain services are non-refundable due to operator policies. All other reservations are subject to the following cancellation fees:

All cancellations of confirmed reservations requested by the Traveler or on behalf of the Traveler are also subject to a $50 per person administrative fee, in adition to the loss of any portion of the trip price. Additionally, travelers are subject to any cancellation fees assessed by our service providers including hotels or airlines used in the itinerary.

In case part of a booking is cancelled, the remaining party may have to pay additional charges (e.g. under-occupancy, or single room supplements). In case of trip postponement, the amount already spent on non-refundable subcontracted services will be charged.

Trip pricing is only valid for the dates of the original confirmed itinerary.

Changes by the Traveler
The Traveler who confirmed the original trip must confirm any changes to said booking for all Travelers on the reservation. For any change by the Traveler to the itinerary after receiving a confirmed Travel Program from Good Life Travels, a fee will be charged with any costs or charges which are incurred or levied by our suppliers as a result of the amendment. Any changes that are requested within one month of the trip will also incur a $25 change of itinerary fee.

Changes and Cancellation by Good Life Travels
Quoted trip itinerary prices are based on current rates of exchange, tariffs and taxes. Good Life Travels reserves the right to increase trip prices from those quoted to adjust for any changes in the foreign exchange markets and to cover increased costs, tariffs and taxes where applicable. However, once a deposit is receipt by Good Life Travels, trip costs will not increase. Good Life Travels reserves the right to change itineraries and arranged sightseeing at any time due to unforeseen circumstances or circumstances beyond Good Life Travels’ control. Every effort will be made to execute itineraries as planned, but changes may occur after the final itinerary has been issued. Good Life Travels will exercise best efforts to book preferred hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with traveler bookings made within 90 days of departure we may be forced to offer alternates.

Traveler Complaints
Missed services are non-refundable. If the Traveler has a complaint about any of the tour arrangements, he/she must bring it to the attention of the tour leader and a representative of Good Life Travels. All claims must be received within 30 days of the trip’s termination to be considered. Claims must be made in writing, accompanied with supporting documentation and/or a statement from the service provider verifying the claim.

Insurance
In the event that you must cancel your planned expedition, travel insurance may be your only source of reimbursement. We strongly recommend the purchase of travel insurance, which is available for coverage of expenses in conjunction with cancellation due to illness or accident. Baggage insurance is also recommended.

Baggage
Please check with your international airline carrier for any applicable baggage restrictions and/or additional fees that may be imposed. On some internal flights, baggage weight restrictions may apply. Baggage and personal effects are at the owner’s risk throughout the trip. Any baggage fees are the responsibility of the Traveler.

Passports, Visas, Vaccinations and other Medications
Traveling to Good Life Travels’ select destinations requires use of a valid passport. For most destinations, six months or more of passport validity are required from the date of entry into the country. In addition, please check with the appropriate consulate or embassy for the latest visa requirements. Good Life Travel will not provide any Traveler with a visa and it is the Traveler’s responsibility to confirm Visa requirements and secure necessary documents well in advance of departure date.

Depending on the destinations and activities the Traveler selects, certain inherent risks may be
present. The Traveler is responsible to become informed about the most current travel advisories and warnings by referring to the Center for Disease Control website at www.cdc.gov and informing themselves of what travel precautions must be made before the trip (vaccinations, medications etc.) Travelers assume all costs and risks with regard to these possibilities and precautions.

Travel Advisories/Warnings
The Traveler is responsible to become informed about the most current travel advisories and
warnings by referring to the U.S. State Department’s website at www.travel.state.gov . If the Traveler decides to travel to the specific locations(s) that the U.S. State Department has issued an active warning against, the Traveler assumes all risk of property damage, personal injury, or death that may occur as related to the issued advisory or warning.

Limits on Responsibility
Good Life Travels contracts independent suppliers to provide accommodations, transportation, guided tours, and other services. It does not own any of the service providers used for your trip. As such, Good Life Travels is not liable for any negligent or willful act performed by such service providers or any of any third party. Good Life Travels acts solely as the Traveler’s agent, arranging hotels, transportation, and other travel services. As such, Good Life Travels takes reasonable steps to ensure the Traveler’s safety and satisfaction, but Good Life Travels neither assumes nor bears any responsibility or liability for any damage to personal property, injury, death, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity arising in connection with the services of any third-party provider.

Good Life Travels is not responsible for damages, additional expenses, or any other losses due to cancellation, delay or changes in air or other services, illness, weather, travel warning or bans, any Act of God, terrorism, infringement on local laws, war, political insurgence, insurrection, riot, civil unrest, act of civil or military authority, uprising, earthquake, flood, or any other natural or man-made eventuality outside of its control. The Traveler is responsible for all such losses.

Incomplete, incorrect, or expired Traveler documents are the responsibility of the Traveler, and as such Good Life Travels is not responsible for any costs resulting from the use of any incorrect or expired travel document.

For causes of cancellation, delay, or changes beyond Good Life Travels’ control, the Traveler has the option of creating an alternate itinerary or receiving a refund for as much of the trip costs as Good Life Travels can recover on the Traveler’s behalf from the associated providers; Good Life Travels shall have no further obligation or liability to the Traveler.

Travelers’ Representations:
Good Life Travels reserves the right to decline to accept anyone on a trip. Good Life Travels reserves the right to remove from the trip, at his or her sole expense, anyone whose condition is such that he or she could create a hazard to himself or others, or otherwise impact the enjoyment of other passengers on the trip. Any physical condition requiring special attention, diet, or treatment must be reported in writing when the reservation is made. If the trip includes a travel by boat of any sort, the Traveler must make it known at the time of booking if he/she is unable to swim. This will not prevent the Traveler from participating in the tour but will enable Good Life Travels to take additional precautions. No unaccompanied minors (those under 18 years of age) can be accepted on tours operated by Good Life Travels. Good Life Travels reserves the absolute right to decline a booking at their discretion. If, in the opinion of such persons, the health or conduct of a Traveler before or after departure appears likely to endanger the progress of a tour, the Traveler maybe excluded from all or part of the tour.

TRIP PAYMENT CONSTITUTES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS SET OUT HEREIN.
This Website is offered to you, the customer, conditioned on your acceptance without modification of the terms, conditions, rules and notices contained herein. Your use of this Website constitutes your agreement to all such terms, conditions, rules and notices.
